Star Trek - Into Darkness[views:4741][posts:20]____________________________________ [May 16,2013 1:30pm - arilliusbm ""] I guess this is already playing? Seeing it tomorrow night. Looks good, I liked the last one even though Abrams changed the franchise tone a little. Khhhhhaaaaaaannnnn is in this one. |

In the sense that they have action every 5 minutes and less dialogue and suspense. But Abrams can still combine both old and new concepts and make a good movie. This movie was pretty good. KHAN was unbelievable. Actor did a great job. |

___________________________________ [May 22,2013 4:38pm - narkybark ""] I really was enjoying the first third of the movie but after that point it became extremely easy to predict every plot point that comes along, which robs them of any impact at all. Even more so since the movie unwisely pulls from past material and doesn't do it justice. They really should've gone full fledged reboot and ignore past canon, and push ahead with an original story. Give us a klingon conflict (which at least it does seem to set us up for). This isn't to say I didn't like it, because I did, and more than the first, but that's not hard. It just could've really come into it's own but it refused to let go of the past. |

___________________________________ [May 22,2013 6:54pm - narkybark ""] I would say yes, but I also didn't like the first very much, so it's a low bar for me. The plot for the first was just terrible and nonsensical. Characters were good but it needed more. This one has a better plot so it felt a lot better to me, but I just wish it didn't go to the reference well so often. I actually really liked the klingon redesign, both the ships and the people. |
