the_reverend said:
hilarious that people find stuff like this. I shall never erase history.
In all seriousness, it's good that you don't! What's also hilarious is that the song had been online for 3 years when this post first came up, speaking of history. Unfortunately, BeSonic went tits up and the song is no longer there.8^( If you want to know how I ended up bringing this old post back up, speak with me privately, Reverend. But no, Gallows Hill wasn't inspired by Cradle of Filth. In fact, the influences I was channelling initially were bands like Moonspell, Paradise Lost, Inkubus Sukkubus, Nosferatu, and Black Sabbath. The mood I was going after with that long, drawn out solo at the end of "Lament..." was actually inspired by the Moonspell song "Full Moon Madness". Anyways, long-story-short, there'll be a new version coming out MAAAYBE by the end of this year. I'll actually be keeping the criticism of the solo in mind for the new version (I'll likely fade it out a lot sooner than I did). The song'll be the same, but it'll sound quite different.
