So every band needs to sell 20 - 30 tickets to get on this?
We ask every band to shoot for at least 40 advance tickets and we hold ourselves to the same standard, there's no penalty for not hitting that mark but we ask each band to aim high. All the bands that play this with us each get all their money after twenty tickets sold, plus a hundred dollar bonus at forty tickets sold, plus an even cut of 100% of the money from people who pay at the door, plus all band members eat for free, plus if we end up ahead enough at the end of the night we pay more on top of that (we have in the past paid an extra twenty-five to a hundred bucks to a band on top of all the agreed upon stuff if there was enough money left over). In previous years, some bands have made $300 - $500 on just the advance ticket sales part of it: Invictus, Mornalir, Dwell, On The Rocks come to mind just off the top of my head. We all know those kinds of numbers are normally unheard of for a multi-band local show, so it's a great gig if you're willing to work hard and beats counting on some non-musician and self-proclaimed "promoter" to get people to the show who in most cases brings no one and then takes a bigger cut than any band member who performs.
