Brooklyn-based extreme metallers MORTALS will release their Relapse Records debut in a few short days, and have celebrated this momentous occasion by pairing with metal tastemakers No Clean Singing to stream the album 'Cursed to See the Future' in its brutal entirety. The site's exclusive stream feature overflows with praise, highlighting Mortals' ability to unify "disparate strands of heavy metal into highly memorable — and viscerally potent — songs. Woven into their dark tapestries you will find strands of sludge, doom, black metal, and thrash. The result is music that’s massively heavy, massively headbangable, and almost always decimating to the core."

The song appears on the trio's upcoming Relapse Records debut, Cursed to See the Future. The album will be released on July 8th in North America, July 4th in Germany, Benelux, Finland and on July 7th in the UK and the rest of the world. Preorders are now available here.

As described by NPR's Lars Gotrich in his Viking's Choice column, the band "dynamically digs into the gnarliest extremes of metal" with recently streamed track "Epochryphal Gloom," elaborating: "When Cline locks into a sinister groove at 4:43, drummer Caryn Havlik breaks the beat with a New Orleans bounce. (It should be noted, by the way, that not only has Cline appeared on NPR's airwaves before, but Havlik is a producer for WNYC's New Sounds. Who says NPR isn't metal?) It's not only the element of surprise that makes "Epochryphal Gloom" noteworthy, but the way you can feel Mortals sweat as the band bounces into a thrashed boogie."

The AV Club also recently posted an exclusive stream of "The Summoning," the third track on, Mortals' upcoming opus. According to The AV Club, the three-piece "summon the best of metal’s assorted sub-genres on new track,", noting that "the band shows its ability to defy classification as it explores everything from doom to black metal over the course of the song’s nine pummeling minutes."
The song is still streaming at this location.

The trio's label debut delivers a powerful, bestial burst of extreme riff-driven metal, sliced into meaty chunks by drummer Caryn Havlik’s inventive, powerhouse drumming, guitarist Elizabeth Cline's wicked axe work, and bassist Lesley Wolf’s spine-rattling vocals. Brutal intros pour effortlessly into gorgeous, tension-building bridges, and an unflinching melodic heartbeat keeps the listener drawn in until the very end. Mortals’ signature concoction of metal is darker and heavier than ever, manifesting black metal influences, stoner riffs, sludgy pacing and searingly brutal vocals.

Catch Mortals on tour this summer, and prepare to meet thy doom!
