Sadly, not many people showed. I think the only band that actually brought in people was the band heading the project, Anamalech. And maybe one other. For an all ages show the bands that played that are young should have brought their friends that normally can't get in to gigs because they're under 18. Reminds me of the benefit at the Met Cafe last Sept. Very sad. It's too bad because I know Jason of Anamalech worked his ass off to put it together. The bands playing should've done more especially since it was on a Sat. The Met show would've done better if we had a Sat instead of a Sunday night during the school year. Such good causes, both, and no support.

Well, there was some good bands, but the $20 cover was the killer. Young bands w/ young friends = no money. Well at least it was for a good cause. Anamalech was bad ass!!!!!:NEWHORNS:

Jason is a great guy. It's too bad the bands that he hook shows up for, such as this one, could get more people to go. I bounced my rent check to go to support Jason. Two of the other three people that went with me don't have jobs and they scraped up the cash. My female friend that was with us, just is just recovering fro paying for her wedding, she scraped up the money. Considering people knew about the show over a month ago, they could've done the same.

I would've rathered you taken pix of a good size crowd but there was no crowd. I'm still shaking my head. Knowing how much work Anamalech put in and it doesn't look like the other bands did. Anamalech deserves more credit. They put out some really nice flyers, posted the show on a couple different sights. I've only known Jason of Anamalech for a couple of months and one of the reasons I like the kid is that he's young and he goes way out of his way to help out these other bands not asking anything in return. Maybe he thinks a long the same lines as me, with how much help he gives, he shouldn't have to ask for anything back. Common courtesy. It's very sad to see Jason kinda get slapped in the face for supporting such a good cause. Knowing from the Met Cafe, which was part of Lupos before Lupos moved into The Strand, they put up $400 to make change and all at the door. After they take back they're $400, I can't remember what % you actually make off the show. Only having 24 people show up, didn't make a dent. I just hope Jason had enough connections that that isn't the way the benefit was set up. If so, he should've told the bands. The bands should've done more. Sorry for the rambling, but I know how it is to put on a benefit for a good cause and no one shows up. One big reason my benefit didn't go off as planned was it was on a Sunday night. Door cost as a reason, I just can't buy that one. Especially when there was a month + notice about the show. It's just so disappointing. You get these bands that complain that when they play 18/21+ shows, their friends can't go because they're young. Here was a good chance to get the friends to go. I'm tired of excuses. I know people have jobs, I have two, but you can always change shedules around as long as you know in advance about shows. Ok, enough rambling. Somewhere in the rambling there is a point. lol
