Testament[views:5347][posts:11]________________________________________ [Aug 20,2004 9:27am - Otto/Wormdr1v3 ""] I forgot how cool this band was. I got stoned the other day and decided to throw "Low" into the Cd player on my drive to CT. That album rips, so i ended up listening to The Gathering and Demonic also. Although I was never a big fan of 80's testament, even when they had Alex Skolnick (sp), I'm ahuge fan of Low onwards. Ever since Chuck Billy started his new style on Low, wow , this band just took it to another level. :doublehorns: It was cool to reconnect with the music after not listenign to it for awhile. Does anyone know if they have any plans for a new studio album? Last time I looked at their website Eric Peterson had broken his leg while they were touring Europe and they had to get a fill in guy. |

I like Eric Perterson's guitar playing, he's a great rhythem player and can pull out some sick solos also. There's a revolving door of drummers though, John Tempesta plays on LOW, Gene Hoglan plays on Demonic, and Dave Lombardo plays on The Gathering. All very cool. |

______________________________________ [Aug 20,2004 9:46am - the_reverend ""] their problem is shitty drumming unless is was lombardo on drums. he added A LOT to their sound. |
_________________________________________ [Aug 20,2004 10:15am - Otto/Wormdr1v3 ""] I liked Gene Hoglan on Demonic. Tempesta on LOW, well he was just a fill in guy, he's not even credited with the rest of the band memebers, you have to look reallt hard to find his name way down o the credits. Maybe it was a chemistry thing, since he was just a temp. |

They rerecorded a bunch of old songs more like they do it now. Tempesta on Drums, Skolnick on Leads and Digorgio on Bass. Sick album. |
____________________________________ [Aug 20,2004 10:55am - Siberian ""] Yeah, I like First Strike Still Deadly except for the drumming. The Gathering is my favorite too and I think it's mainly because of Lombardo. If Lombardo was on FSSD I think that would have owned. Low is an alright album but the Gathering is by far their best IMO. |

_______________________________________ [Aug 20,2004 11:09am - the_reverend ""] didn't they redo a bunch of old songs with lombardo? |
____________________________________ [Aug 20,2004 9:22pm - JoeDavolla ""] No.Im not sure who the drummer was on First Strike... |
