we got a myspace thing about this a few months ago, and responded, and they said that most likely we could do it.

clearly we never got on. Oh well.

they didn't promise or anything, though. So there's no foul play.

why do so many local bands just blend together these days?

ill bet you cant tell the difference between 3/4 of these bands.

a bunch of those bands are from jersey. ive seen a bunch of them in nj, and theyre some of the most generic hardcore/'screamo' ive heard in my life.

yeah, a lot of the bands sounded a lot alike.
I'm home working on the pictures.

were there a lot of kids? or was it a bust?

[Aug 22,2004 3:10am - the_reverend ""]
there were a lot of kids there... in bands.
I think the point of this show was for the label to record a DVD of the bands primarily and then to have a show.

guns up didn't play and sycamore dreams show up like 4 hours late so they were DENIED! sucks, but that what happens.

among the sick: they sound check forever, playing 1/2 a song and then stopping... I would stand up and then nope, a false start. it was melodic metalcore. 2 singers, though they didn't do much different singing. some keyboards. I thought the DVD guys were just there for them... but Iwas sorely mistaken. they were from long island.

and then there were none: they are definitly having more and more fun playing and coming together as a band. I think they would play well on CT shows. People actually danced around for them. though I was the only one yelling "live free or die". they have a new drummer and he was in darken the sky!

akela: an impending storm? the sky went pitch black (just like the vin dessel movie). it started like that, the drummer was missing a black hi-hat stand. at the last song, they messed it up and started again.

scared to silence: you kids doing hardcore/nu-metal. they had a lot of those "jump the fuck up" parts (that you've read about in so many other threads) and highschool girls moshing around for them. they do get +5 points for a drummer with a vocal mic and another +10 points for staying for most of the show. it'll be cool to see what projects the future holds for these kids.

waking judea: they sounded really polished. I think someone's been "practicing" a lot.. or something.. but who does that? The clean guitar had an awesome tone to it. they ended with a break down which is the way western mass/CT likes it. check them out aug. 26rd in maine @ the industry.

embraced by fate: it was at this time I figured out they were over 2 hrs behind. some crowd sing-alongs. mostly screaming with some FATA cleans. ended with a break down into bro-mosh.

red i flight: dual singers, mostly they were just singing the same thing, but there were a few times when they harmonized or did screaming/cleans. remineded me of haste. the guitarists played each other's guitars too. they were from michigan.

angela rose: jeff's (the singer) vocals have gotten so much better. it sounds like he's taking lessons from mattBYD, but it could also be that this wasn't the fat cat. they found a way around the "no playing on the floor" rule.

the auburn system: they played 2 new songs. the last song, I swear I heard some today is the day creeping through on those vocals. ION, SOT, THH were rocking out in the front row.

shroud of turin: the guitarist's head blew out after a song. they borrowed one from someone. they are recording a cd and I can't wait to hear it.

bela kiss: the singer did some "drunken mokey" vocals (ala arab on radar/the chinese stars) but that was limited. most of the time it was screaming, but when the singer did a dry scream, I swear it was devonTYAG screaming. looked a lot like him. the bass and one of the guitarists did the unearth thing and the bass sad "mosh" and the guitar said "up!" on the backs. I was pissed I missed the bassist flipping the "mosh", I snapped a picture and then when the shutter closed I saw him flip it up.

my bitter end: they had a ton (camparibly) people there that were singing along with them.. the bass played snapped his chord off inside his bass so they borrowed one.

the dead season: they are from NJ. probably why I saw them at hellfest though they have been touring since them. tomorrow being their last day back in dirty jersey. there was a lot of stopping in their songs and the singer did some weird, spacious clean singing that i couldn't really hear.

another broken vehicle: for some reason, I thought they were going to suck.. probably the name... but they were pretty good, mixing some southern rock into the typical metalcore. at the end of the set, the singer tossed the mic back onto the stage, I'm pretty sure it knocked down one of the guitar players. they were from georgia.

the hostage heart: yet another guitar player switch (now they have ex-dying in sin). bunches of worcester heads were out for them. the sound was a little off. the vocals were topping off and I think the fullstack might have been too much power for that little room. I expected a pile up on the last song, but all the worcester kids were leery of the cop outside.

invocation of nehek: my first time seeing the rock stars since they signed to a major label. they seemed like the same band... except for the limos, tour managers, blingbling, and expensing non-bloused shirts. If you've seen them live or talked to them, you know that they completely deserve the signing. sick set, even though tim (bass) fell off the stage on to his ass.

lucas: they got george (ex hollywood) singing for them now. for such a little kid, he's got a big vocie on him. though, he's got a way to go on the stamina.

a love ends suicide: OC metalcore. I heard they came out just to play this one show!

the risk taken: for some reason, I thought these guys sounded like the promise/b9 sort of music, but they didn't sound like that at all.

when we played with THH, I remember the drummer being a really nice guy.

And the kids that hang out with them, Ana, Marie, and Jared are really cool people as far as I've been acquainted.

so that's a plus.

Hey we didn't get denied anything there was problems with show times and we got stuck in two hours of traffic coming across the GWB. It sucks that we didn't get to play but shit happens and we aren't sore about it.
