i'm from weymouth. i don't know how far marlborough is but i'd be interested in rockin out sometime. i play everything. i like all types of shit. death/grind/black is what i primarily play.

I'd like to get something started. my brother and me play (he plays drums) but we have no song structure. it's a pain in the ass. i have a whole book full of riffs but everytime we try to put something together, we hit a brick wall. it would be cool to learn different ways to create songs.

take lessons.
pick 3 riffs you like that are kinda similar and in the same time. play riff a 8 times riff b 4 times and riff c 8 times. repeat.
when you do that right together add fills and variations to the last bar of each riff. half or whole bar fill.
add intro/outro or just start and stop. make up weird things to throw between riffs. repeat whatever part you need to to make the song longer.

thanks josh. i'll give it a shot. i keep telling myself i wanna go get lessons but monye's kinda tight. i've been playing for about 8 years now and everything i've learned is by book, magazine, and by ear. do you know of any other good books to learn this kind of stuff?
