I may be able to help you get access to affordable health insurance and other benefits you might not even know are out there for you. Get in touch with me at JasonJoseph99@gmail.com and we can possibly set up an appointment and see if we can put something together that makes sense for you. If you know anyone who I might be able to help, pass my info along to them.

If you want to check out some of the benefits we offer, go to http://www.nase.org (we're a non-profit organization, so that really helps us keep prices down).

That's the only health insurance for self employed in RI along Blue Cross. That's the one I have, it's super expensive, and only cover emergency shit but considering how many times I crash with my bike while drunk (or not) it's worth it. Now we'll see, I most likely going to have surgery for my knee so we'll see how that all thing is going to work out. The x-ray and MRI are not covered until I pay $500 for the year....
I was hoping you had something else to offer.

The way our insurance plan works is you pay deductables that are set at however high or low you choose. That choice affects your monthly premium, which 19 times out of 20 is much lower then what you're going to pay with Blue Cross.

What you are doing with Blue Cross is prepaying for services you may or may not use. That makes the montly premium higher. If you're the type of person that goes to the doctor once a year, that doesn't make sense for you to prepay all this extra money for a $100 doctor's visit.

With our plan, you pay for the smaller stuff and once you reach the max point you can pay, that's it, you don't pay anything else. If you get into a motorcycle accident and you go over your limit with Blue Cross, you're in some serious trouble. Especially if you have a plan that only covers you on the job. You'd be in really big trouble if you got in an accident in MA and they had to bring you into Boston or the surrounding area in an ambulance or helecoptor, because BC/BS only pays the national average for all procedures, which means the cost of an xray in Mississippi drives that cost down and Boston has some of the highest health care costs in the country. Guess who get's stuck with the difference? Yup. You.

Our plan works anywhere in the world at any time of the day. You can go to any doctor you want. We also pay for everything based on what the hospital charges, not the national average (usual and customary). I could go on and on about a lot of the varying differences between us and the HMO's, a lot of it wouldn't make sense, but to break it all down simply, you get the idea...

I don't know how everything is set up for you in RI because MA works differently. In MA, we're a guarenteed written state, which means you can't be turned down for health insurance, if we sign you up that's it, you're in. In RI there is a lot of underwriting that could effect the cost, but I am pretty sure in the long run you'd pay much more with BC/BS.

Hope even half of this made sense haha... it's good practice for me to talk about it though. I am just getting started and I am pretty nervous.

It could, but on average for someone living in MA ages 25-30, a single guy is looking at premiums of anywhere from $250-450 a month dependant on several factors. I don't know if that is worth it to some people, but the plans are all individual, we customize everything to fit needs...

RI is the worst for insurance. The quote I got from BC is about the same, but doesn't cover emergency and big stuff, and really that's what I need. So I'll stick with it...for now anyway.

in MA Mass General offers indigent care, as does Boston Medical.

and MassHealth is always an option.

I mention this cause I'd be fucked if I didn't have any kind of coverage right now, and I'd like people to know that if you're really financiall down on your luck, those above options are always there.

Yeah, it is good to know your options because everyone should have health insurance. Even if it's not from me, I hope everyone does have it. That's really important to me, and actually the reason I decided to work with this company was because it was the company that made me feel the least like a sleezeball sales guy because I know I can't help everyone and it makes no sense to try and sell to someone that's just going to cancel a month or two down the road.

But yeah, if anyone knows people just pass my info along

good call man. glad you believe in what you do. Sounds like a good plan to check out if people are in a tax bracket where they don't qualify for government aid, and I think that's a lot of people these days.

chances are, if you're not checking your email on a library computer, you're gonna be paying for your own insurance. At least that's what I imagine.

There are state programs for self employed people but the costs are ridiculous. There are definitely people that will qualify for Masshealth and I'd rather hardworking people that just aren't get making ends meat get these benefits then all the people that fly over three times a year from various parts of the world, see their doctors and get six months of medication for a dollar and go back to their real homes. Yes, this happens, I've seen it.

Gotta love Massachusetts having the most liberal welfare laws in the country...
