His early work with the Walker Brothers and his first four solo albums are like secret-handshake closely guarded fucking TREASURES. And I won't even get started rhapsodizing over the otherwordly brilliance of "The Electrician"... the sonic equivalent of David Lynch channeling Nick Cave on a really dark acid trip. And of course, Nick Cave, Joy Division, Bowie, Van Morrisson ("Astral Weeks" in particular), Brian Eno, The Stones (especially the old Brian Jones era shit) and Nick Drake (total bum-out music- Pink Moon is one of the heaviest non-heavy albums of all time). And on a Bowie-related note, that dude Seu jorge (black dude singing Bowie songs in Portuguese in "The Life Aquatic") rules. Also been really into Woven Hand.
