Aren't there things in life worth cherishing and not sacrificing for material gain? I feel hardships, resourcefulness, creativity and inspiration are vital, rather than just striving to obtain exuberant wealth, which can lead to laziness. At the end of my life could I really look back and be proud of selling out my integrity and individuality? I also agree that we do need both metaphysical (spiritual, call it whatever you want) satisfaction and a certain amount of wealth. In life we need money to buy food, etc, because we aren't resourceful and don't grow our own. That's just one example of the necessity of money. We were born into this, so we have to work with what we've been given. I believe we just haven't been able to reconcile the above mentioned, and we do need to strike a delicate balance between both, without heavily relying upon wealth and materialism as a means of gratification. |

It basically boils down to a simple hypothetical question for me: would you rather date a girl that was a millionaire, or a girl that you could talk to non-stop and relate with about everything? I'd take the second choice, please. Money has created a false sense. It runs our lives, our society, and the world. It saddens me that superficial people can't think for themselves, and everything is about who has more bling. My ideal society would contain a few aspects: 1.) no dethklok 2.) a humble society where people respect nature and resources 3.) a society where people strive for the betterment of the human race, not materialism. We are digging ourselves into a hole. What we need is a NEW Renaissance. But alas, we must embrace our own destruction due to its inevitability. Embrace destruction, embrace darkness. There is no hope. Certain genres of metal are, at least to me, an artistic interpretation of everything that’s wrong with society and our inevitable doom. That’s why I don’t like Dethklok. This shit’s no joke. |
