The pictures look sick man. It was a good show, although I think Shroud could've had their sound done a little better. The piano was a little high and the guitar was a little low. I guess that p4ap didn't get to the venue. unfortunately, since this was the smoothest running bombshelter show I think I've ever attended.
diatribal revenge: I had not known that they were going to play until I got there. Guess I should have read RttP on my cellphone. the beginning of the set was pretty rocky sounding. the vocals were almost unlistenable. After a song or two, the sound guy finished playing giunea pig with dr and the sound came together.
shaniqua and the skull fuckers: and todays outfits? this show, satsf were dressed as.... PANTERA! they even did a cover of hostile for their second song. they had some extra singer that came up for a few songs. They were only slightly crazy this set. Probably cause it was a short set.
leukorrehea: I was in the parking lot talking with serge and senseless mutilation, missing a song one song. sick set, even though they don't hit maximum brutality until after 2am.
my question from their set "what's more octopus like Aegathis's hair or Mike's drumming".
shroud of bereavement: I was in there for their two normal songs and then the begining of the new song. it sounded great. I didn't notice any level issues with the keys. yes, kelly's vocie is sounding better, but so are julie's backup's.
during shroud's "new song" I went out and shot some promo pictures of leukorrehea. this was basically my first time EVER shooting "promo" pictures. I learned a lot, got a couple "ok" pictures and have fun... it made me want to do it more! yes, there was that small part of me on my drive home that thought "imagine if you did promo shots for $100 a session... you would only have to do 17 promo-shot sessions before you could by that 70-200VR lens.", but I digress. In a victory salute, we did jager shots.
within the fray: first time seeing them after missing them the other time, lost in the backstreets of alston. they were the more "moshy" band on the bill. I actually think they sound try to get on that january show at the bombshelter with darken the sky. it reminded me of darken the sky a little, minus the melodic parts and low vocals, but adding some fast brutality borrowed from cephalic carnage.

d revenge, pending the sound mix mistakes you guys sounded good, but the vocals were definitely hard to pick out. Shanequa was awesome, second time i saw them, loved it. loved it. nice touch with the king of beers. Dimmupeth was ok, but they took 40 minutes to set up and 20 to break down, kind of dissapointing to play after. i tried not to laugh when the sound guy said "you have time for about one more solo". i liked what i heard, but i'd rather listen to that type of music on a cd, rather than in a bar. leukorrhea was fucking sick, best death metal vox i've heard this side of the state line. i didn't get to see the whole set though, i had to visit a green monster behind the building with mr. thinz. really wished i had saved that trip for when shroud was setting up, but we had no idea when we were playing.
again thanks to everyone who cared to stick around for the end of the night, thanks rev for shooting some nasty pics, thanks random drunk guy for moshing with bill, reno, and pj, your beard was knarly rad, thanks todd for checking us out again, and thanks to who ever got us on this show in the first place. it was a good way to waste my 22nd birthday, i could've been face deep in my girlfriend's wonderful titties, or back in milford trashed with people who cared about me, but any chance to rock with my 4 brothers is better than none.

i didn't say anything about wasting my time, but i know if in almost any small show situation where there were this many bands on the bill, my band were to take over an hour and 30 minutes for their set, anyone playing after us would be pissed. i think considering we were playing first, yet our second guitarist was real late, it was only fair to be playing last; but if one of your keyboardists wasn't coming until the end of the show and you felt you couldn't play without 'em, you'd be in the same situation. and after everyone sits through half of that extra long set and leaves before your band plays, it could be a real shit chomper. and next time you want to complain about a hardcore band being on the bill, try linking that type of music to a band who fits the description. it must "always" be dissapointing to find there's a band that's more "dancy" and less "sleepy". on a scale from one to ten of mediocricy, tell me, where would your band be? and if you score higher than you think we would, tell me why you aren't doing any better than a few fucks in a "hardcore" band. where's your tour bus and your agent? originality holding you back? no one understands your music? aw, i'm sorry. call me when you're actually better than me, and i'll apologize for being such a dick and doubting your self confirmed delusions of grandeur.

Indeed we play music light years apart, and I must say that I am proud of the fact that we aren't "dancy" call us sleepy all you want. Furthermore, had i known that you were a "mall core" band i certainly would not have booked you. You guys made me walk away in sheer anger, due to a bunch of 14 year olds dressed like a bunch of spoiled moma's boy "dancing" a bit to close to myself. You don't know how many people were on the virge of losing it, and thats why no one was up there for you. There were plenty of people at the bar and outside. It is true, Shroud is a great set of musicians with a killer sound... I freakin' love them. However I do agree that it wasn't the right list of bands for them at this show in particular. They should try and find some bands that have a more similar sound the next time they set one up. And I only saw one person dancing during WTF, and it was some scene kid with long hair that danced for everybody, all of the bands... (and that drunk dude with the riduclously kickass beard) There was just tension over the set times and I don't think it was quite as expected for anybody. And as far as the whole mall core thing, that's just stupid. Pac sun nation studded belts blah blah blah what the fuck? You put a little too much thought into that pal. Not starting anything... but seriously dude. Mallcore? Ugh. WTF is a great set of guys who love playing their music, it gets frustrating when shit doesn't turn out the way you want it to. It's happened to us all. Give em' a break dude.

First off, read the 1st post by adam time if you are unsure where this started. It sure didn't help us get on stage any sooner when WTF had all their equipment staged on the side stage in our way and we had to remind them when they were going on after they started to set up during our slot. Secondly, all I said is I didn't like their music, still, I stuck around for their entire set. I really don't think about it in a way that Shroud is better or worse than any other band, there is no easy way to compare our music outside of our genre, either you like it or not. You guys sure know how to burn a bridge when we were the ones who put you on that bill. One day soon I'm gonna drop the next hardcore kid who fucking inadvertantly kicks me while doing a half assed gay round house kick as part of his gay dancing.

haha, hey kyledoesn't, get outta this fight, you wouldn't know what music was if you were forced to listen to it. go take your slop grind somewhere else. you've just got your undies packed up your ass because of a show that happened months ago with the worst bombshelter turn out that i've seen... and wow, we're trendy, lookout, oh no! i really could care less where we play in the set list at almost any show, and the difference of the crowd size in playing last that night really wasn't that much, cause there was nobody but the bands + 1 or 2 friends in the first place. and look, i apologize for my band members being impatient and wanting to go on, but none of us knew when we were playing. everyone expects me to know so they asked me, i said we were playing last cause i figured that was fair for us not playing first. my drummer asked the sound dude when we were going on and he said go set up now, and he went to get his shit on stage, i'm sorry they were impatient but it's not my fault they were unclear on what was happening. if i had known they were trying to weasel their way on stage i would've slapped them, cause they were acting like little bitches. but mallcore? seriously, did you even hear what we sounded like? dyingmuse i saw you watching us and that was cool, but don't get pissed cause a few kids wanted to move around. so they may have been moving around like assholes but i can't controll that. also i didn't say we were better than you, i think both our bands are mediocre in our respective genre, which is why we're playing the bombshelter and not bringing kids to the shows. if you think you're more than mediocre you might wanna try and get an ubiased opinion to tell you you're better than the average band, because friday night i was unbiased and it wasn't anything i hadn't seen before aside from having 2 female vocalists. and as for young kids listening to metal core, the first metal band i could bear to listen to was dimmu borgir, and doom metal was the easiest thing i could understand. i could easily play your music, as easily as i could play mine, we're musicians and to get into an argument of skill is ludacris. but to say you could do it better, wow kid, think a little highly of yourself? you got a small penis or something? stop trying to make yourself sound incredible, you're not all you make yourself out to be. and i'm sorry i'm too simple minded to understand your eerieness, but that opeth shirt you were wearing just lead to me calling you dimmupeth, and i don't consider that an insult, i love opeth, they're one of my top 10 metal bands. the whole point of this wasn't to start a fight about our band's integrity, and to compare our bands to eachother is like comparing miles davis to led zeppelin, the point of my statements above were to say that the extra long set was unappreciated, and you don't have to like that. but insult my band and i'm gonna insult you, because none of you really know what we're like, and we could care less if you think we're fucking "mallcore" or if you think we have talent at all. but you're right, it probably wasn't a good idea to try and create a diverse bill, and you're the best example of that to date, other kids wanted to move and you couldn't hang with that, and when your band played i couldn't hang either. i really thought you guys were ok, and i said that, but it's just not my type of music, and i said that, too. no reason to get pissed about personal preference, i really didn't think i would've damaged your self perception, sorry for not being so sensitive to your feelings.

i'm in within the fray. first, i'd like to say that the only reason we were trying to get on stage before lukorhea is because the sound guy told us to go on next. the reason why we tried to get on stage again is because we figured if lukorhea took our spot then, we must be next. we have no idea who is playing those shows, nor do we know when to play... when all your communication is done through this messageboard, it gets confusing.
next, i would like to add that our music is blatantly NOT three power chords. if you listened to us for more than two seconds, you would realize that you're very wrong. i enjoyed shroud for what it was, but how can you compare skill level based on what notes were being played on guitar? if i wanted to compare shroud riffs to within the fray riffs, its a completely different story. if you wanted me to get on stage and play opeth, i could - i love them - they're not my style of writing.

These guys are pals of mine, and I like to support em by moving around a bit for them. That's all. Shroud and my band played together at the Raven last year in Wareham, MA. I recorded your entire set on video. I got one of your demos. I listened to it all of the time. Not anymore man. Honestly, I fucking love music. I really don't care what it is. I'm listening to the Final Fantasy 8 Piano Soundtrack right now, and loving it. Oh and hey, I'm wearing an Opeth shirt... go figure. But when people start making fun of a crowd, because they get into music a little differently, that's not cool. Certain people do it differently, you should respect that. I sure as hell respect those who choose not move around. Just because you're music may have a deeper meaning to you(and I'm sure it does, it's an amazing sound) I just don't see how standing still and drinking a beer makes you better than me if I decide to move around a bit. You honestly have to come down off of your high horse and realize that your band is no place to downtalk. No ones band is, unless you're one of the greats. Which you, or any band at that show was not. Please, just realize that and have some respect for the way certain people respond to music that they love. I stood in front for your band for two or 3 of the songs. I wasn't up there at the end because my legs hurt, otherwise you would've seen me up there. That is not an attack saying you guys went on too long, my legs really did hurt I had been standing for awhile. As far as them goin on,Rob(soundguy) and myself were under the impression that they were on first, but their guitarist was not there at the time, So.... Rob told me to tell them that they could go on when he got there.
