What you guys think is metalcore sure isn't fucking metalcore to me, I'll tell you that much. Metalcore to me basically means metallic hardcore, hardcore being punk of course. So when I think of "metalcore" I think of Converge, Rorschach, Deadguy, Integrity, blah blah. Clearly distinguishable from metal. A lot of the stuff that gets called metalcore(As I Lay Dying, Killswitch, Lamb of God, etc) is all just pop emo college-rock metal to me and shouldn't be taken seriously or given a second thought. Saying that grind and grindcore are two different terms is fucking retarded. Taking the core out of grindcore is basically taking all the punk influence out of it, where it basically becomes metal. Goregrind/pornogrind/cybergrind/deathgrind, whatever it may be...it's all really just metal in the end and most of it has very little to do with grindcore if you ask me, and I think the suffix "grind" should be left out of it altogether(ie, just calling it gore metal, porno metal, cyber metal[drum machine shit], death metal). Core to me is a punk suffix, always has been, always will be, and to see so many jock metal fucks and other assholes stealing it and putting it on their own third-rate bands makes me sick. As a disclaimer, I'll note that I'm writing this from the perspective of a punk kid, not a metalhead, so I'm sure on this forum full of metalheads, my views will be the minority.
