The pats were kind iof in a bind because of the fact that they HAD to trade Cassel to clear up all that cap space. Scratch that up as Pioli knowing that and taking it to the Pats. Regardless, the Pats can still make the best of this with more free agents and the draft. Who knows, they might pick up a monster with that pick?

What makes it worse, at least for me, is the report that has come out since that both the Lions and Bucs tried to swoop in last minute with offers....I gotta assume at least Tampa's was a better offer, but came in too late

Well trading Vrabel instead of cutting him saves the patriots from taking any caps hits. Frees up 3 or 4 million to sign some better players.
