However, as I get older, I've become more and more disenchanted with Liberalism. Not that I don't "feel" it is the best or that with the appropriate people involved and the right circumstances it could work, but the ideals seem to challenge basic human nature too much to be taken seriously. How we would get around that and somehow teach true altruism in a global culture is beyond me. I look forward to a day when public and private interests can co-exist without having to monitor eachother's every move and benefit the majority in a truly palpable way, but I'm not holding my breath. People are so greedy and value wealth to the most disgusting degree that I highly doubt in my life time I'll see any harmonious synergy between the public and private interest. [/QUOTE]
