[QUOTE="Alx_Casket:1035276"]I have been trying to work up a plan with the guy who runs the venue but unfortunately, this is what it's come down to. The police came into the room the other week and found there was alcohol being sold without a liquor license. If the place continues to have bands play here (and pay rent on the space), the following policies are to be effective immediately, in cooperation with the building manager and the law: 1) BYOB - bring your own booze. The venue can't sell any alcohol of any kind anymore, and getting a liquor license is senseless for the establishment at this time (both unaffordable and a losing proposition). A lot of people will see this as a welcomed change, but the venue apologizes to those who are sad about this. 2) $10 donation at the door - I have argued against anything higher because I feel people will stop coming out if it's any more expensive. It was $5 before for all shows, but since it's BYOB now, in order to continue paying bands from far and wide to come and play from only the door money, the price must be bumped up a little bit. This price applies to all future shows that have been originally billed as $5. 3) All ages - I personally fought to keep this place an all ages venue but the guy who runs the place has put a 21+ sign outside of the door. Since this is BYOB, people who are under 21 will have ID's checked and hand-stamped differently. In the future, things might ease up a bit. You will know on here or by word of mouth if things do change. All of the above modifications were unavoidable and the least we could do to keep the place from getting closed down. I really regret being the horse's mouth to share the news on these restrictions, but I think that these are reasonable and shouldn't deter many people from coming out and enjoying themselves. Please spread the word on these changes if you or anyone you know will be seeing or playing a show here, and I hope to see you all there in the future.
