For their last 2 songs, i sat down in the back, listened and had a little me time with a caffinated beverage. 2:00 - 2:30 - Krallice (outside sidestage) this band plays at the least black metal times ever. Last time i saw them was also in the sunlight. 1:40 - 2:10 -Massgrave (mainroom) that's massgrave? I think i have them confused with unholy grave. I expected asians, but saw crust punks. Im not sure why they have 2 singers. ive seen like a billion lady gaga shirts and im at a loss. |

Sounded good, but i havent listened to them in way too long to remember their music. They did get a new drummer so it's not the girl. |

Kind of a little cheese, but still good. I thought the sound absolutely sucked, but then i went back to the merch booth and it sound more like the CD. Where i was back stage it was all vocals. 4:40 - 5:10 - Gridlink (mainroom) they sounded all sorts of awesome, but faced away from the crowd the whole time. Hard to get into someones' backs. 5:10 - 6:00 - Eyehategod (outside mainstage) so much different in ann arena setting as opposed to a small club like the middle east. You really feel disconnected. The sound is different too. Looking at the singer, all i could think is "does richard alpert wear mascara?" |

The only issue was the lead guitar being too loud when he switched channels. When i stepped back to the booth, it sounded like muddy. 6:20 - 6:50 - Black Breath (mainroom) they ruled. Both guitarists came dramatically close to lopping off 2 different cameras. The heat jumped in that room. |

Converge was awesome, I hadn't seen them since 2006 so I was looking forward to it, even though I don't recognize the new shit. I can't believe how much Magrudergrind has changed in attitude since the first time I saw them, it's almost a bummer to see their shows now. They were okay. But Capitalist Casualties HOLY FUCK. I LIKE STANDING ON THE BARRIER TO SING ALONG. BEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFE. |
