If this suggestion were a carton of milk, it went bad at least fifteen years ago, and stinks at least as much. I know you're being sarcastic, but Lars since then is just the saddest parody of himself I've ever seen a drummer be.

I just lost the desire to further my rush experience; I'm generally stuck listening to everything up until signals. I guess one wouldn't say I'm a real rush fan. geddy's vocals give me a headache after 2 songs, much like DT too.

i love vapor trails and snakes & arrows. after signals, they went too synth heavy and didn't really make anything awesome until counterparts. power windows and presto are the worst, but there are good songs on some of the albums between signals and counterparts.

Hemispheres is my favorite. Epic late 70's rush was the best. 2112, A Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres.

I'm a big fan of the title track of that CD, I remember when it came out they played it all the time but I never could get sick of it, really good tune.

“Do you like Phil Collins? I’ve been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn’t understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins’ presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group’s undisputed masterpiece. It’s an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe.”

I don't know why anyone hasn't said it, but think Mike Portnoy is the most overrated drummer ever. He's such a one trick pony. He's just deceptive about it because he can be one trick pony over 20 different drums and 30 different cymbals. He'd fall flat on his dick sitting at a 4 piece kit trying to play Candiria or Dillinger... Speaking of which, Chris Pennie and Gil Sharone should be on this list. Chris Pennie created a new sound for modern drumming and Gil Sharone is just absolutely badass.

Yeah, the title track off of it rules big time.

also an awesome song. To tell the truth, i love the whole record. I like SO much in fact, that i got a drum video for it where NP plays all the songs with the recordings and then goes through them and breaks down some of the cooler beats and fills. They even do it in slow-mo, and with a pic inside a pic with his bass drum action going on in the corner. It's a great video, unfortunately it's a double VHS and i don't have a VCR. DAMNIT

jimbo let me borrow that and i transferred it to dvd at work. but i haven't watched most of it...

test for echo is fantastic. vapor trails would be much better if geddy seriously toned down his vocals. why they choose to layer his vocals so much is beyond me. what a bland boring record. counterparts had a couple amazing songs mixed with total shit.

i love vapor trails. the songs are so catchy and great, especially one little victory, ghost rider, earthshine, and secret touch.

counterparts has a few subpar tunes, but animate, stick it out, and leave that thing alone are excellent. plus you have the best song about fags ever, nobody's hero!

i was thinking of nobody's hero when i typed "total shit"...but animate and leave that thing alone are 2 of their best songs. my favorite album is A Farewell to Kings (Xanadu and Cygnus....wow) and even that one has terrible songs on it (Cinderella Man). their albums are so inconsistent.

still though...rush leaves a sour taste in my ear mouth today. i can't really listen to 'em now, i wore them out years ago. i'd rather listen to demilich.
