I hate this shitpile bulldozing poor excuse for a metal website. In an effort to cover everything "metal, man" they call Blut Aus Nord "not Deathspell Omega" and for new stuff they don't want to bother reviewing from unknown metal acts like Burzum, Primordial, and Pentagram they just put "meh" as their review. But the new Arch Enemy track "slays." Today was the second time I thought it was a good idea to go check out that site to waste time, but I will stick to getting my metal news from a toilet instead.
The last few years have brought a whole wave of hipster-friendly "metal" websites, inspired (regrettably, as Cosmo Lee is a talented writer) by imitation of Invisible Oranges and its ironic, self-mocking approach. They seem to be great for people who basically want to listen to hard rock, and will be in "metal" for 18 months listening to stoner doom, post-metal and indie metal. My problem is that I like many of them as people -- but I am appalled by the damage they cause.
